Original LÖWE has been implementing this approach with its cutting tools since the first anvil shears were introduced in 1923. Even the Original LÖWE 1 featured replaceable key wear parts such as the blade, anvil, spring, and bearings. According to the company, suitable replacement parts are still available today?even for Original LÖWE shears that are around 100 years old.
This brings into focus an aspect that is often overshadowed by material considerations in the sustainability debate: service life. A pair of garden shears with replaceable wear parts does not need to be completely replaced when they wear out. Spare part kits and individual components such as blades, springs, and screws are available for all models.
Production takes place in Flintbek near Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein. Original LÖWE also emphasizes the use of raw materials from Germany, carefully selected suppliers, and closed-loop manufacturing processes. The resource-efficient use of materials is thus not merely a matter of disposal but begins as early as the design, manufacturing, and maintenance phases.
The site?s energy supply is also part of this approach. The company relies on certified green electricity from renewable energy sources and its own photovoltaic system. For the year 2025, Original LÖWE aims to supply all consumption points with 100 percent green electricity and achieve a calculated reduction of approximately 147 metric tons of CO? compared to the average German electricity mix in 2023.
