Server-side compositing turns a single live dealer feed into any number of operator-branded environments, delivered over the company's MOQ pipeline with no added latency and no new studio hardware.

nanocosmos Showcases Cloud-Based Chroma Key at IBC 2026

Berlin, 28.07.2026 (PresseBox) - Berlin-based real-time video platform nanocosmos is presenting Cloud-Based Chroma Key, a production tool inside nanoStudio that composites live backgrounds entirely in the cloud, at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam (11-14 September). From one studio ingest, providers can generate an unlimited number of fully branded live streams, each with its own environment, without duplicating sets, hardware, or workflows.

The tool runs on the same real-time pipeline behind nanocosmos's MOQ (Media over QUIC) deployment, one of the first to reach commercial production worldwide, which has now passed a full year in live operation.

The Difference Is Where It Runs

Chroma key itself is decades old. What nanocosmos has changed is the location of the work: the compositing step moves out of the studio and into the cloud.

"Chroma key has been used for a long time. What's new in our approach is doing it in the cloud: adding multiple backgrounds from one feed without building new studios," said Oliver Lietz, CEO and Founder of nanocosmos. "With a single ingest, we create an unlimited number of streams, entirely in the cloud, without adding hardware to the customer's setup."

Because the green screen is removed server-side and replaced per output, one dealer in front of one green screen can appear in ten or more distinct environments at once: a beachside resort for one operator, a Monte Carlo penthouse for another, a VIP lounge for a third, all from the same live source.

Why Latency Decides It

In a live dealer game, timing is the product. A roulette ball in motion, a card being dealt, a betting window closing, all happen in a narrow window, and any compositing step between capture and delivery is a place where delay can build up.

nanocosmos treats chroma key processing and video delivery as one pipeline rather than separate stages. Running on the company's MOQ-powered platform, every additional branded background reaches the viewer without added delay.

A Commercial Tool, Not Just an Effect

For live casino providers, the case is direct: more branded tables from the same studio footprint, faster operator onboarding, and no duplicated hardware or workflows for each new brand. Chroma key shifts from a visual effect to a way to scale a branded-table portfolio without scaling the studio behind it.

Cloud-Based Chroma Key is available now and can be tested at nanocosmos.net/nanostudio-chroma, or through a 30-day free trial. nanocosmos will be showing it at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, 11-14 September.
