Gericke introduces GFS Gen3: a continuous manufacturing platform built for fast progression, simple operation, and safe pharmaceutical production
Regensdorf, 19.08.2026 (PresseBox) - Gericke announced the launch of the Gericke Formulation Skid (GFS) Gen3, a continuous manufacturing platform designed to help pharmaceutical manufacturers progress faster, operate more simply, and maintain a high level of safety across evolving production requirements.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers are under increasing pressure to accelerate development timelines while managing shifting volumes, containment requirements, and regulatory expectations. Conventional batch-based approaches often rely on multiple systems and repeated qualification activities, introducing complexity, delays, and operational risk as processes transition from clinical to commercial scale.
GFS Gen3 addresses these challenges with a platform-based approach to continuous manufacturing, enabling a consistent process strategy across all stages of development and production. The platform is built around three core principles:
FAST ? enabling efficient progression from development to production
GFS Gen3 supports a single continuous manufacturing approach that can be applied from early clinical development through to commercial manufacturing within one platform architecture. By minimizing transitions between equipment and process setups, the platform helps reduce disruption and supports a more direct, efficient path to production.
SIMPLE ? designed for ease of use and consistent operation
The platform?s streamlined and user-focused design simplifies setup, operation, and product changeovers. A strong focus on repeatable alignment and precise process control helps reduce operational complexity and variability ? supporting reliable performance throughout the product lifecycle.
SAFE ? containment aligned with process and product requirements
GFS Gen3 integrates scalable containment concepts ranging from standard dust control to advanced high-containment solutions. This flexible approach supports operator protection, product integrity, and compliance with regulatory expectations, while enabling safe operation as manufacturing requirements evolve.

GFS Gen3 is intentionally designed as a platform rather than a fixed, one-size-fits-all solution. Its modular and flexible configuration options allow manufacturers to adapt the system to different operational priorities, from development-focused flexibility to efficient long-term production, while maintaining a consistent foundation for process control, containment, and compliance.
?We deliberately avoided designing a rigid system,? added Bernhard. ?GFS Gen3 supports controlled evolution over time, recognizing that pharmaceutical manufacturing must be able to move forward without starting over.?
